When I install mods (e.g. The overncumbered mod), a small pop up about RedEngine compiling scripts comes up. The, a box full of script compilation errors comes up, and I cannot start the game. To actually play the game again, I must completely erase every Witcher 3 file off of my PC. Mods are not hosted through GOG Galaxy. For Witcher 3 mods go to the 'Nexusmods' website.
